Where Scottish
heritage feels like home

For more than half a century, the Edmonton Scottish Society has been a gathering place for people who love Scotland. We started as a home away from home for Scottish families who crossed an ocean and wanted to keep their traditions close. That spirit still beats at the heart of who we are.

Today we are something a little bigger. We are a living, breathing community for anyone drawn to the music, dance, food, and warmth of Scottish culture. You do not need a surname full of Macs or a kilt in the closet to belong. You just need to want in.

Our Mission

We keep Scottish heritage alive in Edmonton and pass it on to the next generation. That means teaching the dances, sharing the stories, pouring the drams, and throwing open the doors so newcomers and lifelong members feel equally at home.

We do this because culture is not something you preserve behind glass. It lives in the room when the pipes start up and everyone leans in. Our job is to keep filling that room, year after year, with people of every age and background.

Our Vision

We picture a society where a grandparent who remembers the old country and a toddler taking their first ceilidh steps share the same dance floor. Where young families find a place to grow up in, and curious Edmontonians find a place to grow into.

Scottish culture in Edmonton should feel less like a museum and more like the best night of your week. That is the future we are building, and there is a seat at the table for you.
